About the district:

   Hooghly district comes under Burdwan division with it’s headquarter located at Chinsurah town. The district is bounded by the district Bankura and Burdwan in the north, Nadia and North 24-Parganas in the east, Howrah in the south and  Paschim Medinipur district in the west. The river Hooghly borders it to the east.
